Babaci tour: S. Antonio's shrine (stage 1)

In the shrine of S. Antonio there is a little girl offering a bouquet of flowers to her statue

Mother Giovanna Teresa was very devoted to S. Antonio and took care of keeping her newsstand always stocked with flowers.

With age and ailments, he regretted that he could no longer make the usual visit to his saint.

Thus the shrine almost fell into disrepair.

But when mother Giovanna Teresa died, her son Piergianni, in her memory, restored the shrine and every year, on the feast of the saint, the town gathers there for a religious ceremony and Piergianni offers everyone a snack.

The baby represents the simple and devoted heart of mother Giovanna Teresa and Piergianni's filial affection.
